the presses: We're proud to say that our collection has just increased to a total of four- yes four- wonderful presses! While our two veteran presses are still hazing the new guys- Weezi and Abey are adjusting nicely to their new home.

Lurch, our Kluge, has been around since the 50's– though he’s only been with us for a year and a half. While we’ve heard great things about the Kluge lineage, he doesn't like to talk much about his family. When it comes to work, he still does nearly all of the letterpress printing. He's got a bit of arthritis and his ticker has been giving him trouble- but with the help of Christopher's home remedies it's safe to say that he'll be around for at least another century.

Dottie is our C&P die cutter/scorer. She hasn't worn her rollers since before she joined us in 2002. She's 116 years old (give or take a few years, she's not telling - she'll tell you that she's not a day over 30). Whatever her age, she’s old enough to make her own decisions.

Weezi is a townie (raised in Albuquerque since birth) that joined our crew in August this year. She's still really quiet (she says it's in her Windmill nature). She loves working with our handmade papers, and is excited to announce that she's had enough practice and is finally ready to run paying jobs! In the future, she plans to also help Dottie with some of the scoring and die cutting.

Abey's still adjusting to his new surroundings. Being the youngest, an AB Dick 350, and the only offset press in the bunch, he still has some trouble fitting in. He's never worked with handmade paper before and still isn't up to any actual work, but we do give him short runs to keep him in shape. Hopefully that will loosen him up so we can get to know him better.
